Congratulations to Mick Yardley on securing victory of the Match Cup 2016, beating Danny Buss 2&1 in the Final Match.
Mick vs Doug Stewart 1UP and Danny Vs Josh Gumm 4/3 in their their morning matches moving them into the Final which was a battle to the end.
Condolences to Danny and we congratulate Mick on a hard fought and a very deserving win.
The Match Cup is played over 4 weeks beginning on the 6th of August and is a similar Stoke to Knockout Matchplay format that the Club Championships follow. The difference is that across all play your handicap is active. Hence stoke rounds are with handicap deducted so too the match play rounds( Match play round used the Match Play index on the back of the social card)
The two Stroke rounds will be apart of the the Standard Saturday comp and if you qualify for match play (top16) there will be a one off $10 comp fee (covering the remaining 4 rounds) prize to which $100 will be awarded to the winner and $60 to second.

6th of August – Rd 1 Stroke (18 Holes) – Please mark “M” at the top of your card
14th of August – Rd 2 Stroke (18 Holes) – Top 16 Qualify. Please mark “M” at the top of your card
*2 rounds must be played for qualification
20th of August – Top 16 compete in AM, winners through to PM (16 drops to 8 – AM, drops to 4 – PM)
26th of August – Top 4 play AM winners of match move to FINAL in PM – Winner awarded

Two qualifying handicap stroke rounds, handicap of the day of each round to apply.
Best 16 aggregate net scores to qualify for the 18 holes Handicap Match Play Knockout.
Ties for qualification are decided by count-back.
The handicap for each match shall be the difference between the player’s handicaps on
the day of the first match. All squared matches to be decided by sudden death play-off.
For matches of more than 18 holes, handicap strokes shall be taken at the same holes as
for the first 18 holes.
